So - welcome to my blog!

RUNNING A BUSINESS

I’m sometimes asked what it’s like running a business.

My daily routine is often as follows:

  • 4-5am: up, into the office.  Me, the computer, the cats, and the dawn chorus.  Magic!
  • 6-7am: off to work - start time depends on the journey, and sometimes I’ll need to go the night before
  • 8.30am: arrive on site, to set up - then deliver
  • 5pm: pack up, on the road back home (or sometimes to the airport…)
  • 7pm: back home.  Really try hard not to work after this time - it’s for the family
  • 11pm: bed!

UPCOMING

Thought I’d use this heading to cover where work is taking me in the near future – say the next month or so.

So – for December, I’m off to Dublin, Manchester, Guildford, Daventry. Bolton, Harrogate and Birmingham.

DOWN TIME

This section covers life on the domestic and social front.

So…

I’m a season ticket holder for Sale Sharks (rugby union), so I’m there every fortnight - usually a Friday evening.  My other sporting love is American Football (which I share with David, my oldest stepson).  Last month we were both at the Wembley Bowl to see the Saints beat the Chargers in a fabulous game.

There’s four of us in the family: myself, Caroline, David and Nathan.  We all like live concerts, so recently one or more of us have been to Glastonbury, seen Eddie and the Hotrods, Stevie Winwood, the Eagles, and Santana

My other main time spend is scuba diving - both in this country (dry suit) and somewhere hotter! (wet suit).  I’d love to hear from others with the same passion, and get to know your recommends for fabulous dive sites….

A GOOD READ…

Any Elmore Leonard crime thriller, if you like atmosphere, great characters, snappy dialogue and a wry sense of humour throughout.  Wiliam Boyd’s recent novel ‘Restless’ is a good page turner too.  I love reading, so I’ll keep adding some of my favourites from time to time - and I’d love some good recommends from you, too…

I’ve also got a top 4 TV series….

  • 1  West Wing
  • 2  The Sopranos
  • 3  House
  • 4  24

…but I haven’t seen ‘Life on Mars’ or ‘The Wire’ yet.  If you’ve not seen ‘The West Wing’ - it’s a must.

That’s it for now.  Please add your comments and your own lists - or if you’ve any questions, just ask.  I’m looking forward to hearing from you….

So - if there are any scuba divers out there…what’s your favourite site, or one you can recommend - either in this country or abroad?

I’ve also got a friend whose school is starting a diving club. So if you have any old equipment you can sell cheaply or donate, please let me know.
