Worth a try, this…I’m going to put on this part of the site little pieces of information that I’ve picked up during the day/week whatever.  Not something I’ve looked up, but something that’s caught my eye, or someone’s said to me.  For example, today’s nugget: the reason for the word ’sabotage’:

“the Dutch word for a clog is a ’sabot’.  When Dutch clog makers wanted to make a point, or slow production down, they threw a clog into the machinery - hence ’sabotage’. It also explains ‘clogging things up”

Someone told me this today.  I have no idea whether it is true or not, nor do I intend to check it up - someone else can tell me if it is true, or entirely fantasy…..
