R: Just finished reading the Dam Busters - an oral history built from the stories of those who were there. Intest in this was stimulated by my recent visit to the Derwent Dam, which was used as a practice ground ahead of the real thing
W: On TV - as well as ‘24′ and ‘The Apprentice’, we’re watching the countdown to the end of ‘ER’, which has been a tremendous series. Great to see some of the stars from the earlier episodes. On the gigs front, we’ve been to see ‘Eddie and the Hotrods’ twice in a week. Once just outside Shrewsbury, and then later in Clitheroe. Both were great, but Clitheroe also had the benefit of a terrific venue (Keystreet) and, beforehand, a great meal at Piccolino’s. Both highly recommended. Here’s a photo of Eddie and the Hotrods doing their stuff…
L: Great new find is Raphael Saddiq…a voice that reminds me of Smokey Robinson, and the whole CD has a real throwback sound to 60’s Motown. Terrific.
