Sunrise Walk…
Sat, Feb 21, 2009
Each year I organise a walk and overnight camp in the Lake District. It’s called the Sunrise Walk because the idea is to spend the first day getting to just below the summit of one of the higher mountains, then camping for the night, so that we can get up to the top to see the dawn break from the summit. It can be spectacular - and of course, it can be pouring down! Last year we were all caught in a tremendous midnight thunderstorm…very exciting and memorable.
We usually go up on a Saturday morning, camp overnight, and descend on the Sunday. The walk takes place in the summer. If anyone is interested in joining the group, let me know in the comments box below, and I’ll let you know when we’ve arranged the dates (so let me know if there are weekends over the summer you definitely can’t make….)
